Vitamin A unnecessary for successful collagen induction
We are often asked why we don't train therapists using vitamin A with skin needling. The reason is it is unnecessary.
Several trials have demonstrated the excellent results that can be achieved in producing collagen without vitamin A.
One trial demonstrated a 1000% increase in collagen in one patient after a single treatment. On average the improvement was 206%[1].
Another trial demonstrated an improvement of 2 grades of facial scar after a sngle treatment without vitamin A [2].
The sales spiel of many companies that vitamin A is important to the results of skin needling simply is not true.
Vitamin A or retinoids therefore are clearly not necessary to achieve results with collagen induction. Topical retinoids cause unwanted side effects like severe dry skin, redness, inflammation and photosensitivity.
We have also always been concerned about the effect of increased transdermal absorption of synthetic Vitamin A into the bloodstream with skin needling. White Lotus chooses to use products that improve results and reduce side effects for patients. Our targeted range of serums are designed to assist skin needling is a natural way.
