Cosmetic Dry Needling Course online

Cosmetic dry needling involves the insertion of acupuncture needles into the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines wrinkles, sagging, scars and other signs of ageing. Dry needling differs from acupuncture in that no previous knowledge of point location or Chinese medicine theory is required to perform it.

This course has been designed specifically for those qualified to perform skin penetration but who have not studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture meridians or acupressure point location.

Compared to the traditional Holistic cosmetic acupuncture course new sections have been added to better explain the current scientific understanding of the way cosmetic acupuncture works and more detailed diagrams and explanations of how to use distal points and other cosmetic specific acupuncture points without preexisting knowledge of Traditional Chinese medicine.

What does dry needling do on the face?

Cosmetically dry needling is usually applied using the threading technique to pass under fine wrinkles. This helps induce natural collagen induction below the wrinkle and separate the healthy collagen reducing depression of the wrinkles. It can also benefit scar tissue and skin sagging.

Who can perform dry needling?

Please note it is beyond the scope of these cosmetic dry needling classes to teach dry needling from scratch and the course is best suited to practitioners who already practice dry needling and want to add cosmetic dry needling to their clinic or salon.

For practitioners who currently practice dry needling but wish to add it to their clinics, they should first check with their insurers to be sure their qualifications allow them to perform dry needling. In some cases they may need to take a physic dry needling course, remedial massage dry needling course, chiropractor and dry needling course or dry needling short course for beauticians and aestheticians course.

These must usually be attended in-person to obtain insurance for dry needling and on average last between 60-80 hours.

About your teacher Anthony Kingston

Anthony completed a 4-year degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine and also holds a master's in Herbal Pharmacology.

After leaving university he and his wife travelled and lived in Asia for several years studying the application of traditional medicine for cosmetic purposes.

On returning to Australia he and his wife founded the first specialist cosmetic skin needling clinic in the country. The clinic became renowned and went on to be featured on national television several times.

For the past 15 years, Anthony has also taught these skills to practitioners across 3 continents. This experience allows him to communicate effectively to practitioners from all different backgrounds to help them get the most out of the treasure trove of traditional cosmetic medicine in their clinics.
