Green Tea and Facial Wrinkles: What the Research Says

In 2009 ScienceDaily reported on research from Germany into a new approach to the appearance of facial wrinkles. The researchers combined high intensity light from light emitting diodes (LEDs) with a lotion made from green tea extract, and reported that the combination worked ten times faster than a similar treatment using LEDs alone.

Interestingly LEDs alone are said to produce reactive oxygen that can damage cells, which is why the green tea extract made such a difference. White Lotus prefers gentle, natural approaches, so rather than LEDs we recommend the Anti Aging Serum, which contains organic green tea oil and potent antioxidant herbs, used on its own or with a derma roller.

Green tea is a potent natural antioxidant that helps protect skin cells from everyday stress. Sadly most creams containing green tea extracts list the extract as one of the last ingredients on the label, meaning it makes up a tiny fraction of the formula, and many of the other ingredients in beauty creams are synthetic, such as parabens and sodium laurel sulphates.

The number one ingredient in the White Lotus Anti Aging Serum, Scar Serum and Stretch Mark & Cellulite Serum is organic green tea oil, meaning that you are buying the genuine natural ingredient instead of a product whose main ingredient is actually water (aqua on the label).

If you are looking for a product for the appearance of fine lines, take a look at the Organic Green Tea Face Oil, designed to be used with the derma roller or as a stand alone moisturiser. Oil serums absorb beautifully and do not sit heavily on the surface of the skin. The White Lotus serum is PETA certified cruelty free and contains no preservatives, additives or anything you cannot pronounce. The only other ingredients in the serum are five well known Chinese herbs, prized for their adaptogenic and antioxidant properties and used in beauty rituals for thousands of years as an ancient Far East beauty secret. Green tea oil has a long history of use on the skin in China, where it is valued for helping skin look firmer, smoother and more toned. It also works beautifully alongside skin needling and acupuncture. For more information about the Organic Green Tea Face Oil click here.
