Recent years have seen a huge rediscovering in the ancient beauty and health practices of the Far East. Beauty rituals from Japan, Korea and China are having a huge moment in the sun as people become aware of how beneficial these ancient natural practice can be to both their health and appearance.

Qi Gong once the poor cousin of yoga is rapidly growing in popularity and classes are appearing alongside pilates and yoga in fashionable gyms across the country. The practices themselves are thought to be over 5,000 years old and incorporate posture, breathing and controlled focus to harness the body natural energy.

Traditionally these were health practices but were also used to enhance natural beauty by focusing the energy into specific areas of the body like the face and hands.

Celebrity practitioners reportedly include Julia Roberts, Kate Beckinsale, Gweneth Paltrow, Tiger Woods, Iggy Pop and Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol.

Practitioners benefit from improved health and relaxation in addition to increased focus.
